Leeds Rhinos Netball enjoyed a hugely successful weekend, as they hosted the Yorkshire Coaching Conference for the first time and claimed their latest victory in the NPL U19 league.
More than 30 coaches from across the country- and even one from as far as Switzerland- attended the annual Coaching Conference on Saturday, which took place at EIS Sheffield.

Leeds Rhinos Netball staff were joined by former England Netball player and coach, Tamsin Greenway, who helped to deliver a series of sessions packed with advice on technique, tactics, game analysis and more.

Speaking at the conference, Greenway- who won two Commonwealth bronze medals with England- said: "I think that these types of events are absolutely crucial for coaches to learn, not only from me and my knowledge, but also from each other and through the networking they can invoke.

"It's clear that Leeds Rhinos Netball are doing some great things in the North and really trying to develop the sport in this area. It's great to have so many coaches down here today and for us all to take that journey to the next step together."

Coaches were then given the opportunity to observe the Leeds Rhinos Netball U19 performance team in action, as they earned a 62-34 win over North East in their inaugural NPL home match. The group were set pre-match tasks by Greenway, before conducting a classroom-based review of the game to conclude the day's programme of events.

Anna Carter, Director of Leeds Rhinos Netball, said: "It was a real team effort on Saturday and fantastic to see more than 30 coaches benefiting from the event and such a successful coach in Tamsin Greenway.

"Tamsin has a great way of putting across the tactical side of our great game for coaches to develop in their own environment. It was also a great chance for coaches to hear from Emily Perry, our Leeds Rhinos Performance Pathway coach, who discussed where Leeds Rhinos Netball are now and where we aim to be in the future.

"We cannot thank people enough who attended the conference for their kind words about the event, especially comments on how much they have learnt and how professional the event was. It was a very proud day for Leeds Rhinos Netball, with more opportunities to be announced in the near future."
