Leeds Rhinos Captain Kallum Watkins has teamed up with MindMate ambassadors to raise awareness of the mental health resources and support available to young people in the city.
MindMate, an online service providing mental health and emotional wellbeing support to young people across Leeds, has partnered with Leeds Rhinos star Kallum Watkins to help promote the resources available through the website.

Dr Jane Mischenko, Commissioning Lead for Children & Maternity Services at NHS Leeds CCG, said: "Working with Leeds Rhinos and Kallum is really going to help us amplify the work we're doing to support young people in Leeds, especially young males, through the MindMate website. We want them to know that the resources are in place to help them understand how they're feeling, no matter how big or small they may feel the problem is."

More than half of young people find the idea of mental illness embarrassing, so having a role model that's willing to talk about their own experience is key to encouraging others to do the same.

The MindMate website has been developed by NHS Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) as part of the 'Future in Mind: Leeds' strategy to improve the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people across the city.
