Leeds Rhinos Ambassador Clubs with girls sections will be given the chance to take part in the Leeds Rhinos Women's first home game at Emerald Headingley Stadium on the 27th May as the club celebrate the growing number of girls rugby players playing the game.
The momentous occasion which will be remembered as the Rhinos' first ever home Super League fixture when the team take on Castleford Tigers Women on bank holiday weekend will see junior girls sections take part in pre-match tournaments and matchday roles such as ball girls, guards of honour and player escorts.

Leeds Rhinos Women's Captain and Foundation Women and Girls Development Officer Lois Forsell said:

"The Castleford game will see us celebrating all the girls involved in the junior game in Leeds by giving them an opportunity to be a part of this huge occasion at Emerald Headingley Stadium.

"The girls game in Leeds is growing so fast due to the efforts of community clubs promoting the game and recruiting more players each year so to recognise that hard work we would like to see as many of them as possible come along and join us on the day."

The fixture will see Leeds Rhinos Foundation hosting an Under 12 girls' pre-match tournament on the day along with Under 14's girls teams providing a Guards of Honour, while the Under 16's teams will be invited to be ball girls for the game.

In recognition of the number of girls playing mixed junior rugby in the Under 7s to 11's age groups the Leeds Rhinos Foundation are also inviting Leeds Rhinos Ambassador clubs to be player escorts for the women's teams to walk them out on to the pitch.

Would you like to be involved?

Leeds Rhinos Foundation are asking those players and clubs who would like to be involved in the matchday to arrive at 12:30pm for a 1pm kick off time.
