Mariana is the Chief Officer for Strategy and Improvement at Leeds City Council during the day, having previously worked in Leeds as Deputy Director of Children's Services, and in the Civil Service both on the front line and in Whitehall. She commits lots of voluntary work to run Leeds Athletic Netball Club, with more than 120 members and running 10 teams from U11 to seniors.

She enjoys all sports and loves watching anything sporting competition. A keen skier and big fan of Menorca, Mariana is married with two very active kids. Mariana is passionate about the role sport can play - particularly for girls - and in all aspects of personal development from health and well-being, teamwork, leadership and organisational skills, through to confidence and self-esteem. She is completely committed to the purpose of the Rhinos Foundation to change lives through sport.
